who invented the ATM?

Many great names mentioned such as: Luther George Simjian (his idea came first), Don Wetzel, he's got patents on display in the Museum of American History to prove it. or John Shepherd-Barron.
Nowadays, it's a matter of dispute (debate)

Many people believe that Don Wetzel invented the ATM in about 1969. But some didn’t think so. In 1939, Luther George Simjian – a Turkish American inventor. He did register related patents for a version of ATM with 20 patents, but not-so-successful. His idea was creating a hole-in-the-wall machines that allow customers to make financial transactions, the idea was met with a great deal of doubt. The Citicorp bank gave it to trial, but after 6 months, it is dismounted because there was little demand. However, nowadays that is a huge demand!
We couldn’t talk about history of ATM without talking about John Shepherd-Barron. He had an idea in the 1960's for a 24/7 cash dispenser. At that time the customer only could draw out about 10 pound for a transaction. However, specialists didn’t recognize, because this machines didn’t give back card to customers (They gulp them, and customers must buy a new card…)

Specialists believe that, the world’s first ATM was installed in 1969 in Chemical Bank in New York. And the author of this machine was Don Wetzel. He and two other inventors listed on the patent. They were Tom Barnes, a mechanical engineer and George Chastain, an electrical engineer.

Thought many people still dispute: who invented ATM? But nowadays, ATM is become so common. In the North and South Pole have event.
